Dian Cao

Dian Cao, M.D., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Cardiology. She is also a staff cardiologist at the Dallas VA Medical Center.

• Education: Medical degree from Capital Medical University (Beijing), Master's and Ph.D. in Pharmacology/ Cardiovascular Pharmacology from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Postdoctoral fellowship in Vascular Biology at Temple University.

Her research focuses on diabetes, heart failure, histone deacetylases and inhibitors, myocardium metabolism, and pathological remodeling. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national/international conferences. Dr. Cao mentors cardiology fellows and students across educational levels in summer research projects.
