Dr. Devorah Curtis is a Full Professor and Department Chair of Mind-Body Medicine at Saybrook University’s College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences. She has held this position since 2012, focusing on curriculum development, doctoral mentoring, and governance. Her research emphasizes self-determination theory across professional and personal domains. Dr. Curtis holds a BS in Applied Nutrition (University of Delaware, 1998), MA (2007), and PhD (2011) in Psychology from Saybrook University.
Her expertise spans business/IO psychology, health coaching, consciousness studies, and pastoral care. She is a Board Certified Coach (BCC) and certified pastoral counselor. Professional memberships include the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Association for Death Education & Counseling. Her work bridges academic rigor with practical applications in integrative care and leadership development.
Dr. Curtis’s research explores meditative practices, recovery from eating disorders, and the impact of coaching on psychological courage. Her publications blend qualitative and mixed-methods approaches to understand transformative experiences in health and work contexts.
