Devon Baranek is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at Rider University. She holds a Ph.D. and M.B.A. in Accounting from Baruch College, City University of New York, and a B.S. in Accountancy from Villanova University. Her research focuses on accounting regulation, financial accounting standards, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement, and corporate governance. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Pennsylvania and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.

Her publications emphasize empirical analyses of political connectedness, compliance strategies, and pedagogical innovations in accounting education.
