Devlin Montfort is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering at Oregon State University. He holds a Ph.D. (2011), M.S. (2007), and B.S. (2005) in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. His research focuses on the epistemology of engineering practice and education, emphasizing conceptual understanding of complex systems and student success through qualitative methods like interviews and ethnography. Montfort’s work addresses issues of inclusivity, particularly for transgender and gender nonconforming students, and explores pedagogical strategies to enhance educational equity.
