Devin Wiggs is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Labor and Work at Cornell University’s ILR School. His research focuses on labor’s engagement with finance capital, including pension funds, strike funds, and financialization impacts on unions. He employs mixed methodologies—historical, quantitative, and qualitative—to analyze labor’s capital and its implications for welfare state theory.
Education: PhD in Sociology (2024), Northwestern University.
Research Interests: Devin explores how unions leverage financial instruments to empower workers while navigating systemic financial pressures. His work bridges labor economics, political sociology, and institutional analysis, addressing questions of equity and power in global labor markets.
