Patricia Campos-Medina is a Senior Extension Associate Faculty and Executive Director of the Worker Institute at Cornell University’s ILR School. Her work focuses on the intersection of race, immigration status, and worker rights. She leads research, policy initiatives, and training programs to advance worker justice and collective bargaining rights. Dr. Campos-Medina holds a PhD from Rutgers University’s Global Affairs program, an MPA from Cornell University’s CIPA, and a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell. She is a member of the Diverse Solidarity Economies (DISE), a collective of Black and Brown Feminist Scholars, and serves as a Visiting Fellow at Rutgers University’s Eagleton Institute of Politics.

Research interests include racial capitalism, immigrant worker justice, cooperative economics, and policy advocacy for marginalized communities. Her work analyzes how race, immigration status, and economic systems intersect to shape labor dynamics. Current projects include a study on Central American Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders' struggles for permanence in the U.S., funded by the Cornell Migrations Project and Carnegie Mellon Fam Fund.
Her publications explore financial social economies among Mexican immigrants and intersectional approaches to labor rights. The Worker Institute, under her leadership, bridges academic research with grassroots advocacy.
