Dr Desmond Wang is a Senior Lecturer in Telecommunications Engineering at RMIT University. He joined RMIT after working at National ICT Australia (NICTA) Victoria Research Laboratory, Melbourne University, and Stanford University, where he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor. His role combines teaching and cutting-edge research in telecommunications principles and technologies supporting applications like 4K/8K video, VR/AR, online education, and remote healthcare. He emphasizes hands-on learning through RMIT's advanced electronics lab, which includes modern portable equipment for flexible experimentation.
Desmond's research focuses on advancing communication networks to improve everyday life, covering mobile communications, IoT, radar, and space satellite systems.
