Desmond C.B. Lyons is an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. A full-time litigator and founding partner of a leading Westchester law firm, he specializes in representing nonprofits and international entities. Recognized as a Super Lawyer in New York, he has extensive litigation experience across local, state, and federal courts, as well as appellate and administrative tribunals.
- Affiliations: Member of the Westchester County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association’s Federal and Commercial Litigation Section.
- Committees: Chair of the New York State Constitution Simplification Committee, former chair of the Westchester Committee of the Federal Bar Council, and member of the Second Circuit Courts Committee.
- Judicial Roles: Village Justice of Irvington, NY; acting judge in White Plains City Court, Greenburgh Town Court, and Mamaroneck Village Justice.
Lyons teaches in the Law and Ethics Area at Gabelli and actively serves charitable organizations. He received the Dave Wade Heart of Gold Award for his work with Abbott House, which supports families with complex needs. He also advocates for U.S.-Ireland cultural and business ties as a first-generation American.
His legal expertise spans commercial litigation, nonprofit governance, and administrative law, complemented by judicial experience in criminal and civil matters.
