Deron R. Albright serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Music, Theatre and Film at Saint Joseph's University, where he teaches screenwriting, directing, digital filmmaking, and film studies with specialization in narrative politics and global cinemas.
His educational background includes a BA in Philosophy from Oberlin College and an MFA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University.
Albright's creative research spans documentary, agit-prop, installation art, poetic animation, and narrative filmmaking, with particular focus on African and diasporic cinematic traditions. His work interrogates political narratives through visual storytelling, informed by extensive international engagement including Fulbright scholarship in Ghana.
