Dermot BRESLIN is a Full Professor in the Organisation and Management department at Rennes School of Business. His research focuses on Organizational Change, Learning, Creativity, and Evolutionary Theory. He holds a PhD in Organisational Change from the University of Lincoln (2006-2010), an MBA from Warwick Business School (1998-2003), and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin (1985-1989). Prior to academia, he held senior roles in engineering and management, including Senior Process Engineer at Siemens VAI and Shift Production Manager at Felix Schoeller Papers.
BRESLIN serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Management Reviews and is a member of editorial boards for several journals. He is also a Council Member of the British Academy of Management. His work explores theoretical frameworks for organizational evolution, creativity in groups, and interdisciplinary applications of evolutionary theory.

BRESLIN’s research combines empirical and theoretical approaches to address challenges in organizational dynamics. Notable contributions include studies on group creativity, the impact of off-task breaks, and co-evolutionary systems. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Emerald Literati Network Highly Commended Paper and Best Paper in Track at BAM 2017.
He has also developed innovative models like the ‘Premonition’ agent-based system to improve fire risk prevention strategies. His teaching spans International Human Resource Management, Research Methods, and Leading People and Teams.
