Professor Derek Macallan is Professor of Infectious Diseases at St George's, University of London, and an Honorary Consultant Physician. His research uses stable isotope tracers to study human lymphocyte kinetics in HIV, aging, and leukemia, developing models of immune memory and pathogenesis.
He practices infectious diseases at St George's Hospital and serves as a Non-Executive Director at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust. Awards include the Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Award (2008) and Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship (2018).
