Derek D Reed is a Professor in the Department of Applied Behavioral Science at the University of Kansas, where he directs the Applied Behavioral Economics Laboratory and serves as an affiliate Scientist for the Cofrin Logan Center for Addiction Research and Treatment. He is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (Doctoral Level) and Licensed Behavior Analyst in Kansas.

- Masters and PhD in School Psychology, Syracuse University (2006, 2008)
Research Interests: Derek’s work bridges behavioral science and economic theory to address societal issues, focusing on irrational decision-making processes. His applied behavioral economics approach models complex choices involving delayed/probabilistic outcomes, environmental sustainability, and skin cancer risk reduction, utilizing principles from behavioral economics, behavioral psychology, and translational research.
