Derek Cracco is an Associate Professor of Printmaking and Computer Graphics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He holds a B.F.A. from Louisiana State University and an M.F.A. from Syracuse University. His work focuses on the innovative fusion of traditional printmaking techniques with digital media, creating intricate, pointillist-style works that explore themes of light, color theory, and astronomical imagery. Cracco’s exhibitions span prestigious venues such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and international institutions like the T.E.N.T. Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam. His art has been acquired by major museums including the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the Birmingham Museum of Art.
