Dennis VERHOEVEN is an Assistant Professor at SKEMA Business School (France), based in Lille. His research focuses on science organization, innovation policy, and environmental sustainability, addressing challenges like productivity stagnation and ecological balance. He holds a PhD in Applied Economics from KU Leuven (Belgium) and has held roles such as Marie Curie Fellow at Bocconi University and Research Officer at LSE.
Key research interests include the (mis)allocation of human capital in science, innovation’s environmental impact, and conceptual clarity in innovation typologies. His work bridges strategy, economics, and policy.
Recent articles explore air pollution’s effect on innovation and clarify terminology for radical/disruptive innovations. Earlier work advanced patent-based measures for technological novelty and citation analysis reliability.
