Dennis Saikkonen is a Doctoral Research Associate at the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development at the University of Zurich. He holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Zurich (2023) and previously worked as a student assistant at the NMR Kids Lab under Prof. Dr. Nora Maria Raschle. His research focuses on neural networks of perspective-taking in developing brains, linking to socioemotional skill acquisition and disruption. Before academia, he was a professional ice hockey goalkeeper for 12 years.
His master’s thesis explored functional brain connectivity in mother-child dyads during mentalizing tasks. Current research interests include developmental neuroscience, brain connectivity analysis via fMRI, and socioemotional development mechanisms. He is affiliated with the Jacobs Center and NMR Kids Lab.
