Dennis Helmuth

Dennis Helmuth, M.D., Ph.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and a practicing psychiatrist in Wooster, Ohio. He leads the Department of Psychiatry Journal Club for NEOMED residents and serves as a psychiatric consultant for a residential treatment center for adolescent boys. Additionally, he conducts FAA-mandated psychiatric evaluations for pilots and holds a commercial hot-air balloon pilot license.

• Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Adolescent Psychiatry

Dr. Helmuth’s research interests focus on clinical psychiatry, with emphasis on addiction psychiatry, adolescent mental health, and psychiatric evaluation protocols. His 2017 publication on prescription drug costs highlights his engagement with healthcare policy issues.
