Denise Hudson is a full-time Instructor of Cosmetology at Northern Michigan University (NMU), joining the faculty in 2013. She previously served as a Paraprofessional and Adjunct Instructor since 2009. Hudson holds a B.S. from NMU and a Cosmetology Instructor License. Her career spans over three decades in the cosmetology industry, including 14 years as a certified State Board examiner and Test Site Administrator.
As an instructor, Hudson advises the student organization "Mane Tamers," which provides community services. She teaches courses such as COS 112, 113, 131, 133, 142, and 143, focusing on fundamental and advanced cosmetology practices. Beyond academia, she serves on Powell Township Government Board as a Trustee Official, Board Liaison, and Planning Commission Member.
Hudson combines practical industry experience with educational program development, emphasizing hands-on learning and community engagement. Her work includes tutoring cosmetology students and collaborating with Marquette Alger RESA high school programs.
