Denise Hare is the Dr. Lester B. Lave Professor of Economics at Reed College, where she has been affiliated since 1992. She chairs the Economics Department and specializes in economic development, labor economics, and China’s economy. Her research focuses on labor markets, gender disparities, rural industry, privatization, property rights, local public finance, and food security policy in China and Vietnam.
