Dr. Denise Azar is a Research Fellow in the School of Rural Health at Monash University, focusing on health literacy, rural health inequities, and healthcare accessibility. She holds a PhD from Deakin University, where her thesis examined physical activity and depressive symptoms in young women. Her current work addresses health literacy interventions for rural populations, particularly in cardiac care and chronic disease management. Azar is actively involved in collaborative projects like the ENHEARTEN study and co-design initiatives to improve patient-clinician communication.
