PD Dr. Demian Berger is a Senior Lecturer at the Chair of Cultural Studies, University of Lucerne. He holds a licentiate in Philosophy and German Literature from the University of Zurich and Humboldt University Berlin, and a summa cum laude PhD in Cultural Studies. His research focuses on political aesthetics, media theory, and 18th-century intellectual history, particularly examining polemical practices in the formation of bourgeois public sphere through figures like Thomas Abbt. He has held postdoctoral positions at ETH Zurich and contributed to the National Research Programme on Mediality. Berger has taught extensively at the University of Zurich, leading BA seminars and literature exams. His work bridges cultural theory, political philosophy, and literary studies, with a focus on interdisciplinary networks and historical discourses.
