Demetra Englezou

Demetra Englezou is a Lecturer in Motion Graphics Production, Audiovisual Media, and (2D–3D) Animation at the Department of Arts, European University Cyprus. She is affiliated with the School of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences. Her academic journey includes an MA (Hons) in Computer Animation from Bournemouth University (2001) and a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from Wimbledon School of Art (2000).

Her research focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration in motion design, curatorial practices, and educational innovation. Notable projects include the Wonderland Project and Motion Vibes, presented at international conferences. She has organized multiple International Motion Festivals (IMF) in Cyprus, earning the EFFE Label from the European Union. Englezou’s creative work includes the award-winning short film 'MIRRORS' and design contributions for Cyprus’ telecommunication regulator.

Her professional roles extend to festival chairmanship, curatorial committees, and collaborative projects like 'Living Museums' under the Erasmus program. She actively contributes to educational initiatives and arts promotion in Cyprus and beyond.
