Tasos Anastasiades is an Associate Professor and Vice-Chair at the Department of Arts, European University Cyprus (EUC), within the School of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences. His academic career spans over two decades, specializing in Graphics, Visual Communication, Illustration, and Comic Book Design. He holds a Master of Arts in Visual Communication (2000) from the University of Central England, Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic and Advertising Design (1999) from Frederick Institute of Technology, Cyprus.
His research focuses on graphic novel creation, visual storytelling, and the intersection of art with social narratives. He has published notable works like The Traveller (2017) and Fascista (2014), blending artistic expression with cultural critique.
Anastasiades is actively involved in academic leadership, co-founding the Cyprus Comic Convention (2013–2016) and organizing events like Eyekon Comic Con Cyprus. He has received prestigious awards, including distinctions in the 6th and 9th Annual Comic Book Competitions in Greece (2006, 2009).
His professional trajectory includes roles as Assistant Professor (2016–present), Lecturer (2009–2015), and Instructor (2007–2009) at EUC. He contributes to curricular development in visual arts education and has spearheaded initiatives like the International Motion Graphic Festival – Cyprus.
