Demet Mutman Uluengin is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Özyeğin University since 2016. She holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University (2011), M.Arch from Uludağ University (2003), and B.Arch from Eastern Mediterranean University (2000). She also earned a Sociology degree from Anadolu University (2021). Her research focuses on urban sociology, transformative design, and critical analyses of architectural interventions in urban spaces.

Research Interests: Mutman explores urban transformation dynamics through critical readings of architectural and urban spaces. She investigates public space commodification, participatory urban design, and the role of temporary interventions in fostering sustainable urban change. Her work integrates sociological perspectives with spatial analysis, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to urban challenges.
