İLKE TEKİN

İLKE TEKİN is a faculty member at the Faculty of Architecture at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, specializing in architectural theory and design studios. She holds a PhD in Building Science / Architectural Design from Istanbul Technical University (2013), following a master's in the same field (2005) and a bachelor's in architecture from Anadolu University (2002).

Her research focuses on urban transformation, reinforced concrete in Turkish architecture, and cultural narratives in built environments. She has published extensively on topics like Beyoğlu-İstiklal Street evolution, post-WWII concrete construction, and modern public spaces in Muğla. Her work bridges historical analysis with contemporary design practices.

Scientific Contributions include a notable 2023 article on bio-concrete applications and 2017 comparative analysis of Istanbul's Beyoğlu district. Awards: Satın Alma Ödülü (2009) for Denizli Municipality Building design. She led post-2021 wildfire recovery projects and served as a TÜBİTAK project consultant.

As Erasmus Coordinator (2021-2024) and Bina Bilgisi Anabilim Dalı Başkanı (2024), she shapes architectural education. Her design studios explore themes like Fantastic Space and Extreme Environments, influencing students like Hazal Şimal-Karatay and Tuba Kara.
