Professor Delwar Akbar is a regional economist and leader in supply chain research at Central Queensland University (CQU), where he serves as Director of the Centre for Regional Economies and Supply Chains (CRESC). He holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and has over 15 years of academic and industry experience. His research focuses on regional development, supply chain analysis, economic impact assessment, and health economics.
Education: PhD (UQ), MPSt (UQ), GCTE (CQU), MSc & BSc (Jahangirnagar University). Professional roles include leadership in ANZRSAI (President 2021-2023) and over 70 research projects securing $11M in grants. Awards include ANZRSAI's Best Paper (2014) and recognition for PhD thesis (2005).
Research interests span supply chain collaboration, agricultural sustainability, and regional policy.
