Shoufeng Cao

Dr. Shoufeng Cao is a Research Fellow at the School of Design, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He leads the Smart Trade Hubs Research Team at the QUT Design Lab, focusing on blockchain applications in supply chains, digital innovation, and agri-food systems. His work is supported by industry-led CRCs such as Food Agility CRC and Future Food Systems CRC.

Education: PhD from the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia.

Research Interests: Blockchain technology, supply chain risk management, agricultural technology, information systems, and design science. His studies emphasize digital solutions for sustainability in trade and agriculture, including blockchain-based traceability, cross-border data governance, and smart contract systems.

Awards: Winner of two Good Design Australia Awards (2020) for blockchain solutions in Australia’s beef industry. Recognized for innovative design in agri-food supply chain management.

Grants & Projects: Funded by CRCs for Northern Australia development and future food systems. Collaborates on projects like the Export Smart Contract Project, which integrates blockchain for supply chain transparency.

Labs & Teams: Active in QUT Design Lab, Blockchain Centre, and BEST Centre. Member of professional organizations including Production and Operations Management Society.
