Dr. Delia Shelton serves as an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami. She directs the Environmental Psychology Innovation Center (EPIC), conducting research on environmental determinants of social behavior in wild and domesticated animals.
Her research focuses on understanding the neural and genetic mechanisms underlying environmentally-induced behavior through both field and laboratory studies. Dr. Shelton's work bridges environmental science, psychology, and biology with applications for human health and conservation decisions.
Dr. Shelton maintains an active research program supported by a National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences R00 grant. Her laboratory trains diverse postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduates in basic and applied research.
