Delia Ionela Prodan

Delia Ionela Prodan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Translation and Interpretation, University of Alicante. She holds a Doctorate in Translation and Interpretation (2016) and a Suficiencia Investigadora qualification from the University of Alicante (2006). Her academic background includes degrees in Spanish-English Philology, Japanese-French Studies, and Cultural Studies from the University of Bucharest.

Her teaching focuses on Romanian language and translation courses within the Translation and Interpretation degree program, with extensive experience spanning over a decade at the University of Alicante. Research interests include cultural aspects of translation, sociopolitical contexts in cinema, literary censorship history, and machine translation systems development.

Key contributions include studies on Romanian adaptations of Catalan prose, post-communist cinema analysis, and foundational work on Apertium-based machine translation systems. She collaborates with the INCOGNITO research group exploring intercultural communication and cognition. Recent projects include participation in the INCOGNITO interdisciplinary initiative (2021-2024) and TRALICOVA literary translation project (2014).
