Delia Ferri is a Professor of Law at Maynooth University and Co-Director of the ALL Institute. She holds affiliations with the Maynooth University Social Sciences Institute (MUSSI) and the Maynooth Centre for European and Eurasian Studies. Her expertise spans EU Law, European Constitutional Law, and Comparative Disability Law. Ferri leads the ERC-funded DANCING project, focusing on disability rights and cultural accessibility, and co-investigates the ReCreating Europe initiative addressing digital copyright law. She has been honored with the European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant (€2M) and Maynooth University’s 2020 Research Achievement Award.
Education includes a J.D. (magna cum laude) from the University of Verona, a Trinity College Dublin LL.M., and a Doctorate in European/Italian Constitutional Law. She is also an attorney at the Verona Bar since 2008.
Research interests emphasize disability rights, EU policy, and cultural accessibility. Notable projects include advancing the right to culture for persons with disabilities and analyzing digital copyright’s impact on cultural diversity. Ferri’s work bridges legal frameworks and interdisciplinary collaboration, with outputs spanning books, peer-reviewed journals, and policy reports.
Her awards include ERC Consolidator Grant (2019), Maynooth University’s 2020 Research Achievement Award, and the Premio Ettore Gallo (2008). She serves on the European Fundamental Rights Agency’s Scientific Committee, the Royal Irish Academy’s Ethics Committee, and other international bodies.
Current students include L. Urzel, I. Tekuchova, H. Chikasamba, and M.P. McKenna. Recent graduates include Maria Del Val Bolivar Onoro (PhD 2022) and Liam Sunner (PhD 2020).
