Dejan Stojanovic is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Fenner School of Environment & Society, Australian National University. His research focuses on conservation biology, particularly the management of threatened species and habitats, with a specialization in parrot conservation. He has conducted pivotal studies on endangered species like the swift parrot and orange-bellied parrot, addressing challenges such as predation by invasive species and habitat degradation.
Key research interests include:
- Predation dynamics (e.g., sugar glider impacts)
- Genetic diversity and inbreeding in small populations
- Monitoring design for cryptic species
- Habitat conservation strategies
He has contributed to projects such as the Rye Park wind farm superb parrot initiative and the Koala species distribution modeling. Collaborations include work on genomic resources for endangered birds and fire regime impacts on ecosystems. His research integrates field studies, genetic analysis, and remote sensing techniques to inform conservation policy.
Current and past projects span 2011–2028, with a focus on data-driven strategies for endangered species recovery.
