Deiric Ó Broin is Professor of Public Policy Practice at the School of Law and Government, Dublin City University (DCU). He lectures on Irish politics and public policy, with a focus on local and urban governance, public participation, civil society engagement, and the social economy. Previously held academic positions at TU Dublin, Maynooth University, and UCD.

His research spans local/regional governance, deliberative democracy, and social/solidarity economies. Recent publications include Mayoral Governance in Dublin (2019), which examines urban leadership dynamics, and 2017's Local Governance, Development and Innovation and Social Innovation in Ireland, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to policy challenges.
