Dr. Deidra L. Gerlach serves as an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Michigan and has established herself as a researcher specializing in synthetic inorganic and organometallic chemistry with applications in bioinorganic systems, spectroscopy, and crystallography.
Dr. Gerlach's research interests focus on Synthetic bioinorganic, inorganic, organometallic chemistry, spectroscopy, and crystallography. Her work bridges fundamental chemical synthesis with potential biological applications, particularly in developing metal-based compounds with therapeutic potential. She employs advanced characterization techniques including X-ray crystallography to understand molecular structures and properties.
