Dr. Dee Jepsen is a Professor at The Ohio State University, affiliated with the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Her work focuses on occupational safety, agricultural safety, and rural health. She holds a Ph.D. in Human and Community Resource Development from The Ohio State University, with a minor in Public Health, alongside earlier degrees in Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education.
Her research and outreach emphasize injury prevention programs for rural communities, including tractor/machinery safety, rural road safety involving farm equipment and Amish transportation, emergency management, and grain handling facility hazards. She is an OSHA Outreach Trainer and leads initiatives like agsafety.osu.edu and agrability.osu.edu, addressing agricultural safety and health challenges.
Dr. Jepsen’s expertise extends to rural mental health, stress management for farmers, and public health interventions. She actively engages in extension programs to disseminate practical safety solutions and curricula for both formal and informal education settings.
