Dede Jorstad, mezzo-soprano, is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Music, Film & Creative Enterprise at the University of St. Thomas. She earned a K-12 music education degree from St. Olaf College and a Master of Fine Arts in vocal performance and pedagogy from the University of Minnesota.
- Teaches vocal studies for undergraduate and graduate music programs
- Maintains a private vocal studio emphasizing pitch-matching, musical theater, and contemporary music
- Has performed with the Minnesota Opera Company for over 20 years
Her pedagogical approach focuses on building vocal technique across all skill levels while fostering joy and self-fulfillment in singing. She teaches private voice lessons and structured voice classes, including summer and fall elective courses (MUSP 133-05, MUSP 133-06) with varying credit hours.
