Debra Lee

Debra Lee is a Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, part of the Faculty of Health and Medicine at the University of Newcastle. With over three decades of clinical experience as a radiation therapist since 1985, she has contributed to advancements in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and radiation therapy education through roles in public/private healthcare, industry partnerships, and academia.

• Qualifications: Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiation Technology - Radiation Therapy) from University of Sydney; Diploma in Therapeutic Radiography from Royal Australasian College of Radiologists

Her research focuses on contouring accuracy in radiation therapy treatment planning, simulation tools for assessment, and the development of SRS/SABR techniques. She emphasizes professional practice education, mentoring future radiation therapists in technical excellence and compassionate patient care.

Lee has led curriculum development and coordinated courses in radiation therapy clinical methods, oncology, and professional practice. Her teaching philosophy integrates holistic patient care with technological training, including advanced practice short courses in Palliative Care and Patient Assessment.
