Dr. Debra Garee is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of the DNP Program at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) within the School of Nursing & Health Sciences. She has been with MVNU since 2011 and holds a DNP (2023), MSN (2010), and BSN (1995). Her professional experience spans over 29 years as a registered nurse, with roles including clinical instructor, program coordinator, and staff nurse at Morning View Care Center/Centerburg Point.
Her research focuses on nursing practice innovations, quality improvement, mental health interventions, and spiritual care integration. Notable publications include work on DNP projects, loneliness reduction strategies, and faith-based nursing education.
