Debra Corrigan serves as a Lecturer Practitioner at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in the School of Allied Health and Social Care, Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care, Cambridge. Since August 2022, she has been integral to the MSc (pre-reg) Occupational Therapy course, leveraging her 23.5 years of experience as an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist in acute hospital and community rehabilitation settings.
Her academic qualifications include:
- BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy (2:1) from the University of Northampton
- MSc Module Level 7 in Management of Acute Stroke and Rehabilitation from ARU
Specializing in Stroke Rehabilitation, Debra's research and clinical interests encompass Occupational Therapy interventions in acute stroke, cognitive and visual perceptual deficits following stroke, and upper limb rehabilitation with a focus on spasticity management. She is committed to evidence-based practice and holistic, patient-centered care.
In her role as Clinical Specialist in Stroke, Debra provides teaching and mentorship to undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprentice occupational therapy students, as well as to junior and senior occupational therapists within the NHS Acute Stroke Service.
