His work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize care pathways and incorporate cutting-edge technologies like robotic equipment and 24-hour posture management systems. He actively explores motor neglect syndrome and its implications in autism and stroke rehabilitation.
Clinical Contributions: As a former Head of Physiotherapy, he pioneered spasticity clinics and care pathways for stroke/spinal cord injury patients. His leadership includes achieving CQC-accredited neurorehabilitation services and CARF/CHKs international accreditations.
Advisory & Technology: Dimitrios integrates advanced rehabilitation tools (Lokomat, Saebo, Bioness FES) into clinical practice. He leads weekly interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient outcomes and ensures alignment with current research trends.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, occupational therapists, and neuropsychologists. His work at Oxford University (2012) involved postdoctoral research on cognitive rehabilitation tools like the Birmingham Cognitive Screen.
