Dr Deborah C Lewer is a Senior Lecturer in History of Art at the University of Glasgow, specializing in modern German art and its intersection with religious faith. She has held prior academic positions at University College London, Christie’s Education, Manchester University, and Manchester Metropolitan University, with visiting appointments at Northwestern University (2007) and the University of Bonn (2009-10). A distinguished Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellow, her research focuses on Zurich Dada, German Expressionism, Weimar Republic culture, and post-WWII German art. She contributed to major exhibitions as a writer and advisor, including Tate Modern and National Gallery of Scotland.
