Prof. Debora Sijacki is a leading academic in Astrophysics and Cosmology at the University of Cambridge's Institute of Astronomy. Her research spans cosmic structure formation, galaxy evolution, and the interplay of dark energy, dark matter, and baryons through advanced hydrodynamical simulations. She has held esteemed positions such as Reader (2016-2021) and University Lecturer (2013-2016) at the IoA, alongside fellowships including the Hubble Fellowship and STFC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.
Research Focus: Dr. Sijacki specializes in developing numerical models to study the self-consistent formation and growth of cosmic structures. Her work emphasizes the role of active galactic nuclei (AGN) in shaping galaxy morphologies and evolution, addressing the nonlinear complexities of dark energy, dark matter, and baryonic interactions across scales.
Scientific Awards:
- Hubble Fellow, Center for Astrophysics, Harvard University (2010-2012)
- STFC Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge (2007-2010)
