Debjit Bhowmick is a Research Fellow at Monash University, affiliated with the Sustainable Mobility and Safety Research Group. He leads key projects under the ARC Discovery Project ‘CYCLED’ focusing on bicycling exposure modelling. His work emphasizes sustainable urban mobility solutions, particularly pedestrian and cyclist safety, leveraging advanced transport modelling techniques like agent-based simulations and GIS applications.
Education: PhD in Geomatics Engineering (University of Melbourne & Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, 2022), Master of Technology in Transportation Engineering (IIT Kharagpur, 2017), and Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Jadavpur University, 2014).
Research focuses on improving urban livability through innovations like 'walk-sharing', analyzing pedestrian behavior in road networks, and evaluating bicycling infrastructure.
