Debbie Harrison holds the position of Professor in the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at BI Norwegian Business School. She has been affiliated with BI since 2001, starting as a postdoctoral researcher, becoming Associate Professor in 2004, and assuming her current role in 2017. Her academic journey includes a PhD from Lancaster University (1998) and a Bachelor's degree from Liverpool John Moores University (1994).
Her research focuses on inter-organisational relationships, network dynamics, and strategic initiatives in complex business networks. Key themes include resource interaction, contractual governance, network governance mechanisms, and sustainability challenges. She has pioneered studies on how organizations adapt to environmental regulations and manage resource deficiencies during disruptions.
Harrison teaches courses such as 'Industrial Networks' and 'Strategic Leadership,' emphasizing practical application of network theory. Her recent work explores distributed control mechanisms in circular economies and blockchain-enabled networks. Over 27 publications reflect her contributions to industrial marketing and strategic management, with collaborations across Europe and North America.
