Dr. Debbie Crossland is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Winchester. She holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology with Education Studies (2008), an MSc in Psychological Research Methods (2010), and a part-time PhD (2011–2016) titled Investigating the Effects of Alcohol on Eyewitness Memory. Her research focuses on improving recall of intoxicated eyewitnesses, employing methodologies like mock-juror studies and field experiments. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses and has collaborated with police on procedural reforms.
Professional memberships include the British Psychological Society, European Association of Psychology and Law, and the University of Winchester's Centre for Forensic and Investigative Psychology. Her work addresses alcohol's impact on memory, enhancing investigative interviewing techniques, and line-up decision validity.
