Debanjali Banerjee is a PartTime Lecturer at the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism (Carleton University) and an Executive Fellow at Woxen University (Hyderabad, India). She is pursuing a PhD at the University of Cincinnati and holds a Data Science Graduate Certificate, a Master of Architecture (SCAD), and a Bachelor of Architecture from Nagpur University, India.

Her research focuses on climate justice in urban design, addressing how building and urban planning impact energy consumption, heat vulnerability, and human health. She explores thermal comfort theories and their role in reducing building energy demands while mitigating climate change. Her work connects microclimate studies with building design principles, emphasizing thermo-physical behavior and heat vulnerability.
Her publications in ARCC-ENQ and presentations at the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society highlight her contributions to urban heat island analysis, equitable urban design, and climate-resilient architecture. She actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of architecture, data science, and climate science.
