Dean Winslow

Dean Winslow, MD is Professor of Medicine (Hospital Medicine) and Pediatrics (Infectious Diseases) at Stanford University School of Medicine, with courtesy appointments at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. He has served on the Stanford faculty since 1998 and held significant leadership roles including Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine and Academic Physician-In-Chief at Stanford/ValleyCare. His career spans academic medicine, military service, and global health initiatives.

Dr. Winslow's research interests focus on infectious diseases, particularly HIV treatment and management, with extensive work in military medicine, pandemic response, and public health. His expertise extends to sepsis management, gun violence prevention as a public health issue, and refugee healthcare. He has conducted significant research on HIV-TB coinfection, antiretroviral therapy, and inflammatory profiles in HIV patients.

His recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on practical clinical applications of infectious disease research, with particular attention to HIV management in diverse populations, sepsis protocols, and pandemic response strategies.
