Dr. Dayalan Kasilingam is a Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He holds a BA in Electrical Sciences from the University of Cambridge (1981), and MSEE and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (1982, 1987).
His research focuses on adaptive signal processing, applied electromagnetics, remote sensing, and wireless communications. He has secured over $476,926 in research funding from the Office of Naval Research for projects like Deep Learning-Enabled Detection and Classification of Acoustic Signals in Underwater Channels. Notable awards include the NSF Faculty Early Career Development Grant (1995).
