W. Clem Karl is Professor and Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Boston University's College of Engineering, with additional appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Systems Engineering.
Education:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1991
Research Interests: Professor Karl's work focuses on computational imaging, statistical signal processing, inverse problems, and biomedical applications. His research develops advanced algorithms for image reconstruction in medical imaging, synthetic aperture radar, and remote sensing, emphasizing statistical methods for signal estimation and detection.
