Dawn Parke is the Master of Landscape Architecture Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer at the Manchester School of Architecture, Manchester Metropolitan University. Her work centers on environmental justice, climate change mitigation, and interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable design. She co-founded initiatives like the Experimental Sustainability Studios and the Frameworks for Environmental Justice Colab Studio, collaborating with institutions like Birmingham City Council to embed environmental justice principles in urban planning.
Parke is an Academic Member of the Landscape Institute and contributed to developing competency frameworks for professional chartership. Her research focuses on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), particularly systems thinking in landscape architecture education. Recent publications explore regenerative landscapes, pedagogical models for sustainability, and multi-methods design processes.
She received recognition as a finalist in the 2021 Green Gown Awards for sustainability advocacy. Parke’s work bridges academic research with practical applications, emphasizing collaboration across disciplines and scales to address ecological challenges.
