Dawn Ball is a Lecturer in the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine at the University of Cumbria. With a 24-year military career as a Combat Medical Technician, she was part of the first military cohort to graduate from the University in 2014. She specializes in Pre-Hospital Care, Critical Care, Trauma, Resuscitation, and Major Incident Management.

- Level 5 City & Guilds in Security and Risk Management Consultancy (2020)
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (On Hold)
- BSc (Hons) Top-up in Practice Development (2015–2018)
- FdSc Paramedic Practice (2013–2014)
Research & Teaching: Co-creator of the Military Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Course (MPHECC), a mandatory qualification for medics deploying overseas. She teaches Resuscitation Council and Advanced Life Support Group courses. Her work emphasizes bridging military and civilian emergency care practices.

- Enhanced Care Paramedic with NEAS in her spare time
