Dawit Zemedikun

Dr Dawit Zemedikun is a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia's School of Population and Global Health, affiliated with the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Research Centre (CERC). Supported by the McCusker Charitable Foundation and co-appointed at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, his work focuses on chronic disease epidemiology, health econometrics, and electronic health record (EHR) analysis. He holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham and is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.

Notable achievements include developing the RAPID predictive model for rheumatoid arthritis and leading global burden studies on stroke and neck pain. Awards include the SPGH Research Seed Funding (2024) and recognition as an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. He collaborates internationally on linked administrative data projects and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through health systems research.
